Speech Pathologists study, diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listing, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills, stuttering and using voice. People who experience difficulties swallowing food and drink safely can also be helped by a Speech Pathologist.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights says that, “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression”. Speech Pathologists play an important role in enabling people with communication difficulties to realise their communication rights.
Sylvanvale employs two Speech Pathologists who have immediate capacity to see participants at a location of their choice at the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rate. We offer a range of assessments, including cognitive/IQ, academic skills, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, behavioural, speech and language, and occupational therapy. Our professionals can determine your child’s strengths, needs, preferred learning style and any appropriate interventions – an important first step in understanding how to best support them.
Following each assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive written report to outline results as well as recommendations for your child. This can be also used to support your child’s NDIS plan.
Learning Links understands that every child is unique and has different strengths and challenges. That’s why we work closely with each family to provide guidance and the best possible program and opportunities for them to reach their full learning potential now and in the future.

Toilet Training
Just as your baby starts to get older, and you fall into a comfortable routine, it comes time to toilet train. And all of a sudden you find yourself in a spot where you just don't know what to do! Here are some helpful hints to get your prince or princess on the throne.
Pick the right time
Most children aren't ready to use the toilet until they are two or three years' old.
Start preparing your child
It's a good idea to prepare at least a week
Give it a go
It's a good idea to wait until you've got a quiet week at home before starting. Begin first thing in the morning by putting your child in their special underpants, and some old, loose-fitting clothes.
The first few weeks
Toilet training doesn't happen overnight; it might take your child just a few days to get the hang of it, or possibly a few weeks.
Troubleshooting
Sometimes children need a little extra help.
If you find yourself getting angry, or you feel as though your child is not responding, simply stop. Have a break and try again in a few weeks.
